I’m Isabelle Hawthorne, the painter and creative behind Simply Bee. When I discovered my love for art, I quickly realized—cheesy as it sounds— it was my life calling. My soul is most fulfilled when I’m creating art that invokes emotion.

Through my artwork, I explore all sides of myself and my emotions. It allows me to navigate things like political fury, depression, and chronic illness, or the complexities of sexuality or spirituality. Like Persephone’s annual transformation, I–and therefore my work– contain a powerful duality. Alongside these pieces, I also create from a place of light and magic, inspired by the divine feminine and goddesses who guide me. Some pieces are intricate stories, others are simply beautiful– both are art and have the potential to resonate with someone.  

My mind and personal process is where everything begins. But Simply Bee is where it expands to include you. 

I started Simply Bee for anyone who has ever needed a physical anchor for their feelings– a comfort, a spark, or a reminder. Whether you are drawn to the emotions of my original paintings or find joy and fascination in a “Simply Bee” creation, you are welcoming an object of intention into your life. My purpose is to ensure that what served my soul can now serve yours.
